Horses in Rehabilitation Care

The horses listed below are in the process of healing.  Please read their case studies and follow along with their stories as the are given the time to rehabilitate so that they may become adoptable horses.

Once they recover from their body aches and pains and injuries they receive a training acessment and are put into a training program.

May's Story

November 11, 2011

The Fawor Foundation received a call to help a mare with an injured leg.  The owner expressed she could no longer support the injured horse and surrendered her a long with her folder to the Foundation.

Case History reads as follows:

October 2010

May was seen by a vet after a kicking match with another horse wearing shoes.  She had large amounts of swolling and cellulitis.  She was also unsound.  Radiographs were taken of her left hind hock showing some roughned edges but no chips or fractures.  She was given antibiotics and a schedule of routine dmso sweats to help improve her cellulitis.

September 2011

May was given away on craigslist to the owner that made the call to the Fawor Foundation.

November 2, 2011

May kicked through the fence and reinjured her scared and healing leg.  We picked her up to help her along shortly after the second injury.
